Busy Day!

What a busy day - worked 6 hours and didn't have a great start to the day. Lost my nametag sometime between last night and this morning and got to work and realized that I was missing a button. ARGGHHH! I hate that. But, got all the things done on my to-do list. That feels really good. I need to get more organized for sure! Made my first baby bootie! I'm so excited. I need to make the match! Well, time for dinner and an early bedtime.

Good Savings

I shopped at CVS today, used my extra value card, coupons and rewards and got a great deal! I saved almost 40.00! I love to get a good deal and I love looking in my pantry and seeing that we are stocked up on the basics. Somehow that is really important to me. I must have had to do without or gone through a lean time in a past life for this to bother me so much. Plus, I am a BIT of a hoarder, so it seems that I am using my hoarding for good, not evil. I like the website, That site has saved me so much money!! On Friday, I will go back and stock up on some more. Looks like our 3 houseguests are going back to TN soon. Will keep you updated. I probably will not discuss this much. It's pretty painful. But, I have to be in denial. I love denial. It works for me. Don't judge.

Back to "Normal"

I was holiday help at my work and they asked me to stay on. I'm really happy. I like working there. Tonight when I went in, one of the other Christmas hires said that tonight was her last night. I'm sad for that. It's so hard to find a job these days, especially in the area of Michigan that we are in. So, I am grateful for the job, for sure. Tomorrow is a day for cleaning and finishing up some projects. Also, I am back to a normal schedule at work. That's nice. I hope to put some pics up tomorrow. I know I've been saying that for some time now. I will, I will. Later!!

Babysitting today

Sitting with the Grands today - missing out on a hockey game and sleep, but we're having fun. Working tonight my last night of inventory. YEAH! Got an extra shift the end of the week. Fits in nicely with #5's hockey tournament, so I'm happy. A little extra money. Planning to but gift cards for Target and Walmart for next Christmas. Will share my plan soon. This hectic schedule needs to slow down just a little. I have so much stuff that is not getting done. ARRGGHH. Well, better go. I have some dishes to do and a little one to chase and sure that the other one wil be up soon from nap. I'm glad that I had my children early, I'm tired, people!! LOL!

Lots of Snow and A Messed Up Schedule

I am not good with change. Especially with my sleeping needs. I only have one more night (Sunday) of late (only midnight, hopefully) and then back to normal. I'm so excited! Had a fun shopping day at the thrift stores and then major shopping run. Will make a month of menus and maybe post them. It might be helpful to someone! Well, I am tired and need to go finish my dinner. Talk to you soon.

Now I Know That I NEED Sleep

I'm not really a violent person, but going on just a few hours of not-that-great sleep is not for me. I always knew that I needed a good amount of sleep, but now I know that I really NEED it. I am doing inventory at my work and we were at it until 3:30 AM this morning. I have to go back for 9:30 pm until sometime after 4:00 am tonight. I'm off tomorrow, so hopefully I will get a little more sleep. I appreciate the hours at work, though. I was just seasonal help and they asked me to stay on just as on-call, but I have 21 hours next week and 15 hours the next. That's about perfect. And, I still get my employee discount. That made for a very nice Christmas. I was able to pay for almost all of Christmas without it coming out of the budget. YEAH! Now, I just have to get through inventory! LOL! I forgot that I signed up for a PIF stitching group and a stitching pals group last year that starts this month. I'm happy that I will have this to look forward to. I have a family situation that is ongoing here at the house and it involves our house guests of #1 and the grandchildren. If anyone out there is reading this, please pray for a resolution to this situation. I can't go into details because it's her life and God knows what the path will be already, I just hope that good decisions are made and it works out the best for everyone involved. I've just given it over. I can't worry anymore. It's not really my situation. But it's hard when you love the people involved so much. But it's not my situation. Maybe if I repeat it enough....... yeah. That will help. I love sarcasm, don't you??

Waiting for Snow

There is snow in the forecast here in Michigan. I am having a fun time watching the panic that the snow forecast for Tennessee is causing, but I feel a little panic of my own when I hear the word. I really am uncomfortable driving in the snow or having anyone else in the family driving in it. If I could just nest while the snow piles up and wait until the roads get clear, that would be perfect. But, we are sharing a car and everyone has to get to work. I work a weird shift at work for the next 2 days and it's until really early in the morning. With our toddler house guests, it is near impossible to sleep here. This should be interesting. Well, no choice. I did go to Meijer (Michigan Kroger) and got milk and bread, but only because we were out. No panic here, no sir. OK, just a little. I HATE SNOW!!!!!

Not Going To Do It

Take down my tree, that is. I think I will do something radical. I am leaving my tree up. I have white lights on the thing and I really like looking at it. Today, when contemplating taking down the tree, I got sad. So, I am leaving it up and decorating it for every month. This should be interesting. I will let you know how this goes. I PROMISE that I will take pictures. I am feeling a little better. I'm so happy. I still have a little headache and I have alot of congestion. Hopefully that will go away soon. I'm really tired. Well, going to bed now.

A Short Post

This will be short. I am sick. I hate to be sick. It is only a cold, but I feel terrible. That is all.

It's Not Nearly As Much Fun

Undecorating, that is. The house will look so depressing without the tree and the decorations, but it's time for everything to come down. I have some snowman things that will go up for January, but I don't have all that much. I need to add to the collection. I have a wonderful quilt that my Mom made for me that has a different snowman for every month - I will post a picture tomorrow. I will look for some other things in the Christmas Clearance sales that are going on. When I get everything done, I will post a picture. Had a wonderful lunch at Chili's with Big Daddy and then we got our errands done. I have picked up a cold from somewhere and I wish it had a gift receipt. I would definately return it. It's really cold here and we're supposed to get an inch of snow tonight and another inch tomorrow. I don't want to move in the winter, so we will wait to start looking for a house, unless we just find a wonderful, perfect house for a great price. I am sure that we will find the right thing in the spring. I don't work much this week, so I hope to get more done around the house. See you tomorrow!!

Day 2 - still blogging!

Ok, two days in a row! Whoohoo! Yesterday I got some really great things at Barnes and Noble - including a new insulated cup for the Coke I must consume to be a nice person and some great magazines. We have a hockey game to go to (#5 is playing) and we were up early so that Big Daddy and #2 could play in men's league. It was so cold (10 degrees) and snowy. Yuck! But now it's sunny, but still cold. Just got done paying some bills and now I need to shower. Then, maybe some stitching. It's nice to be lazy. Big Daddy is at work until tomorrow morning (don't feel so bad for him, he gets paid for sleeping - long story) and maybe we will go the Chilis for lunch. Oh, I just remembered that I have some laundry to put in. That is a never-ending thing here in this house. Well, until tomorrow......

New Year, New Start

Well, it's 2010 and I'm starting (yet again) a blog. I have others, but this one I am going to commit to. There will be decorating, drama, complaining, and goal setting (and hopefully achieving) and a little bit of everything else thrown in. We were thinking about moving back to Tennessee in the summer, but should we really be looking for new jobs with the current economic climate when Big Daddy has one that is perfectly good, makes him happy and pays the bills? And, I really like my little part time job. It's just enough to keep me out of the house some and I do enjoy the discount for employees! I think the kids would be ok staying. We will have to look for a new house, as we are tired of the trailer park, even if it's a nice one. We just want a yard. I would like to garden some and have maybe a little more storage. I think we will start looking in the spring and we will take the winter to fix up some things that will help this house sell. It is a nice house and someone will love it, I'm sure. It's big and nice for a family. Am I disappointed about not moving back to the South? Honestly, yes. It's a little depressing, which is the last thing I need right now. But, it is what you make it and I can be happy here. As long as Big Daddy is happy, I will be ok with it. We currently have a house guest, so Christmas decorations will come down on Sunday, I think. The house is always a little depressing after all the decorations are down. Maybe I will go ahead and put out some pretty things for Valentine's Day. I bought some really pretty pink plates for the kitchen table and today when out shopping I will look for more "pretties". I think I will go to TJ Maxx and see what's out there. Next post may be about my cute table! LOL! Well, Happy New Year. Here are my resolutions:
1) See the good, look for the happy, try the positive
2) Declutter
3) Look for a new house
4) Keep a neater house
5) Work on faith and God issues
6) Remember to be thankful, especially for Big Daddy and try to make him feel more special
7) Help the older kids be more independent and help them on their path without being the doormat
8) Make at least 6 baby hats a month for Mary's Cradle
9) Start finishing some projects
10) See the good, look for the happy, try the positive

On the first of the month, I plan to check my list and see how I'm doing. Accountability. Right.
