Should It Stay Or Should It Go?

OK, now that song is in my head - sorry. Here are pictures of our wonderful bar area in our kitchen. It has an arean for bar stools, but the cabinets overhead make it impossible to sit there. It also is between the main part of the kitchen and the dining room. It is the first thing you see when you walk in the door and the countertops have that lovely burgendy stripe like the bathroom. So, the question is - should it stay or go? I have plenty of cabinet space without it, it just holds more crap than anything else so it enables my hoarding, and without it, we would have more serving space for buffet style dinners. We do those alot, with a large family. Anyway, you have until this evening to weigh in and let me know what you think. Let's hear it!!

  1. Get rid of it. It will open up your kitchen area and make it brighter, as well as less closed in.

If you don't need it, grab a sledgehammer and go for it.

  2. Absolutely go. I took my peninsula cabinets out years ago and still think it was the best fix I ever made to my house. Saved me from cracking my head too! Also the space became a great area to lay out needlework projects and use my cutting mat.

  3. Go, baby, go. It dates your kitchen. Without it, you'll have a lighter, airier workspace.

  4. It should go. As Ralee states "it dates your kitchen". You will have a nice open space without it.

  5. I think that it should go. You'll really open up your kitchen getting rid of it!
